Just for info I held the dreaded Alchemia in 2014 when they announced their phase 3 trial results with over 400 people on it.
The people on the drug did very well. But the placebo (control) group did exactly the same.
"Alchemia’s Chief Scientific Officer Dr Tracey Brown added: “We will be conducting an in - depth review of the data to identify the possible reasons for an unexpectedly high median PFS outcome in the irinotecan control group.""
The control group being what the trial is compared against, as ftt have been calling it the standard care group.
No concrete reason was ever discovered as to why the control group did so much better in this clinical trial compared to all previous clinical trial data. Some posters on HC suggested that the Russian testing sites might have been to blame, but with ftt we can't blame the Russians!
