Australia adopting the standard that presents its self will do nothing as far as saving the earth.
Even at 100% cessation of CO2 produced by Australia will do nothing to the rate of climate change.

If you feel so strongly about buring of coal, petition your local member to get Australia on the uranium band wagon.

It too is ZERO emissions & will drastically reduce the CO2.

Far more so than your quest to bang your chest about your new shiny car & get everybody onto the bandwagon.
You could then charge your car guilt free.

We could have have 6 nuclear power stations built for the cost of one (failed) NBN...

At the moment it is slightly better than a zero sum gain re the CO2.

Deforestation is the best (natural) carbon sink we have. That is where you can have your tree huggers doing the most good...
