That 91% of Newmont's shareholders has to weigh up whether a play for Goldcorp is more beneficial than a marriage with Barricks - especially if Barricks want to run the show.
If I was a Newmont shareholder I would be voting for the Goldcorp takeover - mainly because Barricks aren't coughing up enough collateral with their share offer.
