It is a good way to store the excess capacity created from say renewables (ie solar) during the day as opposed to using a battery or store the Hydrogen in an ammonia mix & extract later as required (easier to transport & handle)...
Going back to high school chem, when you burn hydrogen the only by product is clean water & a release of energy?
