Guys, Coles doesn't buy milk from farmers directly, the processing companies do and they set the gate prices. WOW is directly compensating farmers by paying them directly rather than paying the processor so that it goes to the farmer. Gate prices are set by the processors based on forecasts of sales both domestically, (and internationally), traditionally adjusted half yearly (although the claw back on AU farmers by MG and Fonterra was unusual and disgusting)
