re: huntley still has a buy......roidz "To true we are in a new century but for years now those in this industry have been waiting for China to enter this age. You forget China has more coal reserves than we ever had they produce over 2 billion tons a year and still manage to export 80 million tons. They have recently taken over Gympie golds coal assets near Newcastle and guess what none of the coal is being back shipped to China it's going to Japan ,Korea, and Brazil. Once China has the relevant infrastructure in place to allow larger scale production and shipping they will be the #1 exporter of seabourne coal and my friend you will not be able to deny it. India is rising but remember South Africa and China are a hell of a lot closer than Australia to ship coal from."

This may be so but i think that CEY's domestic market has got to be about as sheltered as it can possibly get. How can anyone compete when you mine is a few kms away from the power station? How can anyone compete when you have conveyors linking them up directly? I agree with the concern regarding Tahmoor but I think that the domestic thermal market and our 20 year contracts will keep us happy long after chinas production ramps up.

Chinese coal high in sulfur too?

Im still holding as i am still on close to 100% profit from the Austral deal, regardless of that why would you sell now? just wait until we are back in the high 4's again.

I would be closing out my coal exporters (If i had any left), but CEY's a little different.

    Cheers
    Michael.
