"beginning to attract new capex into the sector" - you are correct. However you are underestimating the time it takes for these mines and this new production to come online. It is not merely flicking a switch and boom 1m tonnes of zinc concentrate are on the market. It doesn't happen like that. Heron are one of the closest to production in Australia at least and there aren't too many zinc mines around - hence why you have this made race right now with all the explorers and developers trying to find new deposits etc.

I think Heron and New Century and any other near term zinc producer are right on the money and their production will hit the marekt just at the right time - I find it very hard to beleive Zinc prices will go much lower from here - in fact you'd have to think this could be the start of a new cycle which could go on for 3-5 years.
