I'd say 40 - but black and white TV's where still hard to find and pretty much phased out apart from maybe the garage - would be like trying to find a VHS player now.
10 channels ? - no idea where they came from - 4 channels at best until SBS 5 in '80 ?
I'd say they also probably had a 6 digit number for that phone too ?
Not the 8 digit land line or 10 digit mobiles we have now.
In saying that I doubt people remember phone numbers anymore given they're now stored in phones.
