If you actually click on the link to the growing stack of analysis in this report you'll see that it's more specifically Western Australia that has all the raw materials that are needed for battery production, with Kwinana being favoured as a location for a battery plant.
'Mr Peluso says it makes sense to produce batteries locally.'
So why build a plant in Townsville 3,500km away?
