Even though distributing the SOL shares makes sense they would basically have to be forced to do it because it was break the cross shareholding and mean the Milner Family loses their ability to control both companies with a minority shareholding (I think they have about 15 percent of SOL between them?). The family control has always been the most controversial part of having that cross shareholding in place and is basically why they need to target retail shareholders rather than institutions
