lost more than what I made, as I got into the market just prior to the GFC and totally got out from about 2011. Used the period-volatility during moments of desperation to recoup some losses to good effect. I believe it takes a special individual to put all the eggs into the one basket and not become emotionally affected during the extremes, whilst steadying the ship by buying up during moments of fear and catastrophe, and off-loading parcels when consensus says the market is great and safe.
Where our market is now to where it's been, and where the housing market is now and how low the rates still are, I'm expecting money to slowly leave property and to chase the eventual great returns of the stock market; hard to imagine from here, which kind of makes it a more powerful event should it come to fruition.
