    Yeah unfortunately to receive high prices for your grain it is generally at the expense of someone missing out on a crop down the road. It will be interesting to see the area planted to wheat this year. I doubt it will be near predicted forecasts. Rain has been very patchy around here and know of some farmers who missed out on rain in april/may and decided not to sow or reduce acres to crop.

    How things change. In 2010 we buried feed oats in a pit (approx 150 t)which was then worth $70 t. Yesterday a grain buyer offered $300 t for it. Might have to dig it up at that price.

    Actually farming at the moment looks quite positive with the eyci above 500c, lambs $6 plus over the hook, mutton $4+, wool going strong and now grain starting to kick outlook is quite good. Alls we now need is for mother nature to be kind to us and most farming enterprises should be quite profitable.
