Very sad for those buyers. Have to admit that in all the years I spent in the RE industry I always advised clients to avoid buying units off the plan (still do) due to the associated risks with market lag time, unapproved changes to construction, contracts that often favoured the developers and the potential for developer insolvency. The added risk of poor building engineering on a wide scale is now a further deterrent.
