I have been disappointed by 'preliminary' XRF before and was expecting the results to be lower than the number quoted by PEX. But I have also seen XRF under-call very high grade mineralisation before too, and didn't expect it to do so here...and to say pleasantly surprised is an understatement.
The few sections out so far show a lens about 100m high, and with combined Pb-Zn averaging 6-10% plus silver credits, this is definitely in the ball-park for either a big OP or an UG mine.
It's interesting to speculate what PEX means by 'low grade' Zn + Pb, moderate, and strong. If anomalous is <1% Zn+Pb, low is 2-5%, moderate is 5-10% Zn+ Pb, and strong is >10% combined Zn + Pb, the forward releases of the completed holes show 5 to 15m intersections >10% Zn+Pb within 15-60m of 2-5%. That starts to become a significant tonnage deposit at a decent grade, with more upside in the in-drilled IP anomaly possible.
