Yes, the first time I heard about negative electricity prices a year or two ago I thought it was ridiculous. But then, when you understand the problem a network has if there is too much electricity being "pushed" into it....then it makes sense.
If you think about it, effectively the pumped hydro is an oversized battery. So, who would most like to own an oversized battery in a state where solar is still on the climb and the market gyrations between over and under supply will continue to grow each day?
If you can get the numbers to work, it is a great long term investment. Low risk and predictable returns.
Maybe we should advertise on gumtree
