    Hi Jimmy,

    It was a long time ago but worth recalling how Kowalik first performed before the chemical clean up disturbed it in some manner;

    4 November 2008

    Empyrean Energy PLC

    Empyrean Energy Plc, the oil and gas explorer and producer with assets in Germany and the USA, provides the following update on operations on Block B which is part of the Sugarkane Gas and Condensate Field:

    * Kowalik well flowing gas and condensate to sales line during test
    * Operator planning to inject the well with mud-cleanout treatment to enhance the flow and further clean the formation

    Kowalik -1H Well

    Empyrean has been advised by the operator, Texas Crude Energy Inc ('TCEI'), that at 6am on 3 November 2008, the Kowalik-1H well was flowing un-stimulated to sales on test. During the 24 hour period to 6am the well produced 937,000 cubic feet of gas, 321 barrels of oil and 14 barrels of water. The water production is considered to be predominantly drilling and completion fluids. The well was still producing slugs of drilling mud during the period and had not fully cleaned up.

    There was no fraccing and it was just the lower end of the well that was producing so far as I recall. Now they've fracced a substantial proportion of that slotted liner length.

    As to future frac of the cemented liner section: an ADVFN poster, CaptainnelsonForties, has suggested that they will want to leave the well flowing at least until it has cleaned up, flowed back the fracc fluid, and that will take some while, he says. They will need to line up the crew and the machinery and we saw from agent's photos that it's quite a big party to organise.

    They seem to be very eager to get on with the new drilling. My feeling is that it will be those new design wells that should reveal the true potential. The sooner they drill, fracc & flow, the better for us imo. Kowalik was always going to be tricky because of the slotted liner. But the views on the news release suggest that we can expect some form of decent flow. We'll just have to wait on that one.
