Who knows? CGF’s been in a concerning downtrend for best part of 2 years. I’ve been a holder since circa 2002, and the stock has fluctuated significantly over the years, but struggling to understand if there’s any light at the end of the tunnel. Does the sp reflect the fact annuities are on the nose? Or is it a hangover from the RC and changes to the way FP dealer groups recommend their products? Or a devaluation of their property assets more broadly?
Hard not to be concerned.
Currently trading on an undemanding p/e with some tailwinds, (aging population, proposed changes to super/pension, etc), but definitely kicking myself I didn’t buy MFG back in the day when I had the chance.
Also spewing I reinvested the recent div.
Wondering if it’s time to cut losses or hold tight through the cycle? If their investment yields and asset prices come under more pressure in coming years (highly likely), I can’t envision many catalysts for growth in the foreseeable future.
