Hello all,
Quick question...
If you hold a parcel shares for more than 12 months you receive the CGT Discount of 50%.
You then participate in a Share Purchase Plan and add to your current holding of shares.
What would the Tax Implication be if you sold all your holdings before 12 months of the SPP date.
(Original holding + 12 months)
(SPP Holding -12 months)
Do you get the CGT discount on all shares sold or just the Original (12 month+)
Bit confused because my Commsec account shows transaction dates for all my purchases of shares but nothing about shares purchased through the SPP. Wondering if the SPP shares take the date of the original holding or it is looked at like 2 different purchases.....
Any help would be greatly appreciated
