I have been trying to find some sort of guide to selling online but the internet does not seem to have what I need.
I am trying to learn how to sell off my shares in the most effective way, once i'm in the green.
* My focus is shell stocks / acquisition stocks *
1) When to sell as a lump package VS when to sell in fractions? Which is better?
2) If dividing your stake to sell; how many offload points / sell offs is ideal? (is it better to be out in 2 or 3, or 6 or 7? more?)
3) If dividing your stake to sell; what fraction do you offload at each selling point?
4) If dividing your stake to sell; do you sell the same fraction each time or is it varied?
5) If dividing your stake to sell; what are the significant stages to sell off your holdings, it seems that there is usually a few separate price runs/jumps with this sort of stock (effects of CR, progress updates, consolidation etc??)
6) What kinds of announcements / activity indicate that it is time to get out? (the price run is coming to an end)
7) Do you free carry a % of your holdings for the long term?
8) Any other selling tips?
I am aware that everything is situational and no two trades are going to be alike.
I am just trying to get an idea of how experienced traders sell off their stake to maximise their profits - post acquisition.
I am a new trader, i apologise in advance if i have asked / ask any unintelligible questions, and thank you for taking the time to help me out.
