re: nope swaggytrader, i think you may have misunderstood map's distribution. yes it is not franked... but better than that, it is tax deferred and treated similar to a capital gain by reducing your cost base. if you hold map for longer than 12 months, you're only paying tax on half the div.
doublely positive if you subscribe to their drp. especially if you expect to hold it for longer than 6-7 years as your cost base cannot go below zero!!! hence, you can expect all future distributions held after that time to be completely tax free!! imagine a divvy paying over 30% inflation adjusted and tax free!!! (ie. 10% pa div growth drp reinvested) after holding for 6-7 years for the your cost base to go down to zero.
