Remember Van is a BENEFICIAL holder on behalf of the indices, GDX and GDXJ. Therefore their managers focus is on the index, either big or junior, balancing/re-balancing as they're mandated.
Regarding an SAU t/o, why fix a relationship that isn't broken? There are both brown and green fields operations in Australia ripe for the picking, eg. DCN, GOR (yes, I'm talking a part of my own book).
