where have all the negative posters gone; surely they should explain how a share at $23, that they guaranteed would be under $20 soon, has managed to make nearly $26
I respect all opinions, but to simply come on here with all sorts of negative outcomes (when things LOOK negative), then to disappear when the share price rises, is very odd.
Personally, I sold half my WBC because I am really worried about apartment construction (not just Opal, but all). I can see a lot of underwater, 'stuck' mortgages.
But, what really interested me was the reports that prices are down (real estate), but mortgage lending up. Honestly, that may a great thing. Oldies are selling (they dont care if they lose 10% because they already made 100s of percent). And the youngies gooble up the 10% less real estate
To be honest, if this trend continues it may be (as I posted somewhere earlier) a very, very big positive for the banks. But that was my thinking before this shonky construction thing. I am surprised the banks have moved up. I dont see more upside, but who knows.
