If those things you/we relied upon cannot be relied upon then what else can we rely upon? Should we all have some sort of inside connections and trade on inside knowledge? No, the company's disclosures are supposed to be reliable and the regulators are supposed to ensure that, otherwise one is doomed to fail as a market participant without inside knowledge.

And talking about inside knowledge I wonder how many have sold out (any former senior management came to mind) or sold short based on inside knowledge? Them too, need to be prosecuted.
