You raise a good point Danny. Definitely something to consider. I listened to the QGC/BG presentation this morning and when Richard Cottee was asked why he was recommending selling to BG , his answer was because of the ability of raising funding going foward. He refered to the w.a.k. ( can't remember what it stands for ) but it relates to the risk for projects and therefore the funding abilities for those projects. He said the w.a.k. for QGC had gone through the roof and effectively would've stalled their projects. As his main interest is in delivering value for shareholders , he decided that the BG deal was the best option.
Reading between the lines , I think he would've rejected the offer had it been 8 weeks ago.
Having said all that, I'm still super keen on EPG. I'm just going to be a bit cautious over the next couple of months. If the credit market settles out , I'II be jumping in with both feet. My opinion only.
