what concerns me though is when i started posting here a short while ago, the SP was around $40 with virtually no volume.

There was volume aplenty today (albeit 99.5% of the volume was attributed to just one trade).
So, do you feel better now about the intrinsic value of the company?

Or do you still think the company is worth only $28 because its shares are not very heavily traded?

the acquisition was finalized after that and the SP is now 8% up.

    10% Now.
    And, Hey!
Don't forget my 71c dividend, which would have accrued in the intervening period.
    So, 11%

"i must admit the Intelligent Investor had humongous praise for the REH business model, but they could never recommend it as a 'Buy" because it was one of those shares that basically never really dipped to their elusive 'Buy' zone."

Never rely on the opinions of sellers of financial advice.
Otherwise you end up making Telstra-like investments.

And - unlike Telstra which always looks "cheap" - yes, Reece has never been classically "cheap".

But that hasn't prevented very significant value creation for Reece's owners

"...my only excuse is that i was so upset with negative postings that i looked up the wrong company chart ."

In a similar category of excuses as "Homework Eaten by Family Pet"
