Redbubble is different from Etsy. Etsy is about selling crafted items. Redbubble is about selling “artwork” printed on a range of pre-made items.

How “artsy” or appealing the works are to an individual really depends on what you search for. Or how much the company can infer - from your interactions with the site, adtech, etc.

There are artsy stuff - but you have to search for it. Pop culture probably appeals to wider population - so it may be why you’re seeing some of this first up.
