Isn't this really a time line issue for a lot of smaller investors who just want the great news today to see the SP fly? as most of the trading that has taken place to drive the price down was on very small trades. I think mainly out of frustration and of course that is the individual investors own choice. (probably a speculating back-lash)

I am sure the company and all there associated interests wanted to see a good Katherine West result to give an early kicker, but that does not alter the longer term and more substantial windfall to which CNOOC has stepped up to. Yes they have a larger slice of the pie but their further involvement reinforces the pie never the less. I am one of the few from what I have read that takes confort from the CNOOC involvement.

This might well be a sock draw holding well into next year
