Your question "Why release all that info without any timeline or end game plan inclusive?" is fair enough but I think there are so many layers of variables outside their control it would be just another  missed timeline. Endgame is more serious and there are several possibilities, including the previously discussed trade sale of the whole company. I think telegraphing any of this would be a mistake - just my personal opinion. I found the release informative, for what it's worth and I think we shareholders have dug ourselves into a position where any announcement will be "wrong" and no announcement even more wrong.
