It's an interesting technology that may increase the bandwidth of microwave communications a few-fold in certain applications (it'll likely be a serious boon for space communications, for example). It doesn't even come close to closing the 10,000-fold gap between microwave and IR.

As for antioxidants: have you actually read any of the recent research on their effects? Like most people (including most in the scientific community) I used to consider it a straightforward no-brainer that they're always good for you. Then a bunch of evidence came along that changed my mind. Strange how that happens.
