We already pay GST on items above $1000 As to fair why doesn't the government do the same "fair" system on all business where the top 700 companies don't pay any tax.
If I have to pay GST on an item that costs $10 it will make no difference to me but the administration costs will cost the government probably more than it collects
Some business will decide to refuse orders from Australia due to the added paperwork (this has happened already) So ultimately the impost of GST on minor cost items will reduce the peoples rights to purchase on the world market which we are told is what we are in, so is that "fair"
