    haha, I own my own business and am fully aware of how the GST and taxation system in general works.
    As far as consumers are concerned GST is part of the cost of purchasing a good or service. Yes it is a tax but just like sales tax used to be, GST is not quoted separately, in fact it is illegal to do so. B2B is different.

    Not sure what English has to do with Japanese VAT???
    And collecting Japanese VAT is in no way, shape or form any different to collecting Australian GST.
    I'm sorry that it ruins your argument, but that's how it goes...

    Collecting tax is part of doing business, if a company can't make enough revenue to cover collecting tax in a particular market then it clearly isn't worth them being there, period. The fact that Amazon has opened a local operation suggest that is not the case...
