Hardnfast, not sure what the issues might have been with the phones. Are you sure you're not ringing old DataDot by mistake - they've been asleep at the wheel since Ian Allen left so maybe they can't hear the phones over all the snoring!!
I've followed DataDot since they went public with Ian Allen at the helm. Listed at 25c, went to 57c from memory, dropped back into the 30's for a while, then the 20's and I reckon that's about the time the brilliant new Board sacked Allen. And they've been on freefall ever since down to the muddy lows of today at 2.4c.
The last (and only) time DataDot made a profit as a public company was the last financial year Allen was there. Since then, and now under the daily management of Board Chairman Rathie, there have been a long series of continual and significant losses. DDT's survival has sadly been directly related to the depth of their shareholder's pockets from 4 or maybe 5 separate capital raisings since listing and all after Allen's exit.
As far as Allen is personally concerned, I believe he now fronts up emerging technology company NanoTag Technology. They started out as competitors to DataDot in the microdot business with vastly superior and more robust technology than old DDT. They have evolved to now also present a world-leading GPS product Black Knight, which was all over the news and 7's Sunrise this week, following a 1,000 kit roll-out to WA Police through the National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council.
Smartest thing Allen did when he left old DDT was to engage the top distributors from his old days and give them his full support to develop numerous markets that DDT could only dream of pursuing. The markets DDT continually talk up as prime targets in their annual meetings and presentations to shareholders, are already reality and strong revenue generators for Allen's new team. Allen certainly seems to have old DDT (and the others in this game) chasing his tail and playing "catch-up football". Karma seems to be a real bitch for Rathie and DDT.
No word of going public for Allen's new NanoTag venture just yet, but it's certainly a train that' I'll get on if it does!
As always, DYOR!
