Fair comments there Kookaburra777 - judging by some of the ill-informed naive comments here about the delay in the Seismic survey crew - they haven't much experience in how geophysical surveying works - especially large crews associated with seismic survey work.
Its highly likely that the seismic contractor is working for another client - possibly on the other side of the continent in a remote location, and you only need either a decent amount of rain or for the client to request additional survey lines to be done and thus make the preceding job longer than planned, this obviously affects the clients who have work booked further down the timeline. Its not like there are hundreds of Seismic contractors to choose from either and the ones that do exist have work programs and/or contracts signed for work up to 1-2 years in advance in some cases. Same goes for airbourne geophysical contractors or EM survey crews and for drill rigs.
Its actually rare for a geophysical contractor to turn up on time at the initial date planned - unless there is a simultaneous "bust" in mineral, oil and gas exploration.
