Farmers will turn to legumes true, but meat prices particularly those from feedlots (meat is a concentration of the costs of growing grain as 3kg of grain to produce 1kg of beef). But farmers are also forgetting that the consumer now paying a lot more of his income on what is effectively a rising energy tax in the form of higher fuel costs and everything that impacts on. So meat consumption will decrease as meat prices stagflationarily increase. Ultimate grain legumes must prevail because food manufacturers can use plant based prteins which are cheaper than meat and almost hardly effected by rising oil prices, to deliver protein to the masses.
