Media has contacted Tesla for a reply, but Tesla is not responding. According to experts, the branch could have been established because of Tesla’s ambitions in the Czech Republic. There had already been talk about Tesla opening a branch here in order to produce cars or to operate service on its cars. Radek Drab, a PwC consulting believes it makes more sense that they have stablished a branch due to the company’s ambitions in manufacturing, be it automobiles or batteries. According to Mr. Drab, the Czech Republic is an ideal location for Tesla since it has a highly skilled, relatively low-cost workforce and because it has a central location relative to Europe. It’s a logical step, since they still don’t have a manufacturing base here. The company is headed by 3 executive directors, one of them being Stephen Werkman, CFO Tesla Europe.Tesla has no official dealerships in Czech Republic, but it will enter the Czech Republic as soon as it starts to sell the Tesla Model 3, which will be key to its future ambitions. New car orders are currently made through Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg and Germany.
