Is anyone else on this area aware that there will be the first few holes ever drilled in the Bight soon?
Give you a tip. My elephant like memory reminds me there are just three Permian Deltas in the world. Mississippi, Nigeria, and the Bight. The first two are among the worlds great oil provinces. The Permian is generally from memory anyway, the most productive stratigraphy for oil. Its deep and the seas are in the Roaring Forties, but that wouldn't be as tough as the North Sea in some ways but the sea is deep in the Bight.
So far this potential gigantron field area has never had a drill put in it, ever. The benefits to Oz would be potentially very high, but so will costs.
A slew of big discoveries would transform the SA economy to Texas Mk II.
