EconomyUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ During theCabinet meeting on February 20, National Development Agency was assigned tospeed up a process to implement the ‘Tavantolgoi-Gashuunsukhait’ 259 km highcapacity road project under ‘design-build-operate-transfer’ concession.
Authorities of corresponding companieswere obliged to ensure safety of the traffic movement and repair damaged parts ofthe existing road in this route.
The new road will have four lanes and be specialpurpose road that has a load bearing capacity of 115 tons; 24 tons on each axle.Construction of the road is believed to increase freight transportation bytwo-fold, augment coal export, bring economic benefits, develop rural areasand increase jobs.
