Under the old Mining Act 2010 there was (and still is) a requirement for miners, processors and smelters to submit a proposed plan on compensation, relocation and resettlement of the owner or occupier of the land as per the Land Act.
Under the Mining Act 2010 and the Land Act 1999 there are minimum requirements to get the government to compulsorily remove people from land for mining.
The required plan seems to be colloquially called a "RAP" by all and sundry.
It is not entirely clear whether other companies are actually preparing a RAP in accordance with those high standards, or whether they are colloquially referring to the minimum standards required under relevant Tanzanian legislation.
Given the publicity requirements of RPF and RAP documents I firmly believe KNL is the only one to have actually prepared full IFC/World Bank quality RPF and RAP documents.
