koro - getting rid of the underperforming assets seems to have worked a treat. A few key financial ratios - especially pre tax operating margins and return on assets (due mainly to offloading / writing down) have certainly shown a marked improvement in the half year report.
Also a reduction in $ debt accompanied with the reduction in assets/equity has also resulted in a large improvement in debt/equity ratio to about 20% on my calculations.
