Mina Muga completes the process to obtain the Environmental Impact Statement
The promoter, Geoalcali, gives the Ministry the extra documentation that had been requested and confirms that the project "does not present a risk to the surrounding infrastructures", according to those responsible.

Managers of Geoalcali , promoter of the future project of Mina Muga on the border between Navarre and Aragon, have delivered to the authorities of the Ministry for the Energy Transition (former Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Environment) the extra documentation that had been requested about the extraction of potash and possible conditions linked to this type of activity.

According to Geoalcali, through a communiqué, the new clarifying information provided revolved around three specific elements ( seismicity, subsidence and salt waste management ) and they would demonstrate, in their view, that their future planning "does not it presents a risk for the surrounding infrastructures " , they add.

From the company point out, in addition, they have " the firm commitment and responsibility to ensure respectful practices co-environmental, in line with the principles of the Circular Economy, adjusted to the regulatory requirements and generating benefits for the area."

Hence, they continue, Geoalcali has performed simulations, analysis and specific studies to which they have added "diverse information supervised by several experts in seismicity and subsidence at the national level." In view of this work, which will help the company to complete the necessary administrative process to obtain the Environmental Impact Statement, DIA, "Mina Muga does not present a risk due to its own design, the preventive measures adopted and, above all, it is located in an area of low seismicity, as has been demonstrated with scientific tests , "they conclude.

    ABOUT GEOALCALI AND MINA MUGA
Geoalcali is a Spanish company created from national and international capital, dedicated to the development and exploitation of potash mining. Potash is the most common natural source of potassium and its most common use is as an agricultural fertilizer.

The parent company Highfield Resources is a listed company on the ASX (Australian Securities Exchange) and 100% of its capital is invested in Geoalcali projects, all located in Spain.Among them is Mina Muga, located about 50 km from Pamplona, within the municipalities of Undués de Lerda and Urriés, in Aragón and Sangüesa and Javier, in Navarra.

From there, the goal of Geoalcali with Mina Muga is to build a 21st century potash mine : a solvent, sustainable and environmentally friendly project that will serve as an economic and development engine, which will help to slow the depopulation of the zone and population aging.

It is a project of great interest, at the forefront of mining and fully viable, incorporating the most advanced technologies at the service of safety and minimizing any impact on the territory.

Sustainability and strict compliance with environmental regulations are two of the fundamental premises under which the project has been designed and which will also govern its implementation. At this time, as mentioned, the project is in the final stretch to obtain the Environmental Impact Statement.

Good to hear it’s still pencilled in as a 21C potash mine, was starting to think timelines were slipping towards the 22C and my great grandkids were on a winner here.
