Nicky excellent insight. Travelling trends dont change and I myself feel the same thing now as people did back then. In fact I have pushed forward my travel plans this year and have already visited SE Asia, with a holidays paid for to america in October, and South africa + Europe in January :)
FLT is a different company to 2004... In fact I believe its a great solid company that will continue to have strong earning for years to come... my only concern is that it might be expensive at its current valuation of $40, and could attract short sellers should the price go up to $45...
Also I feel their growth in UK and China is not as significant as their earnings in Australia... correct me if I'm wrong?
