Only trying to make sense of the deal that was struck Why was it so cheap? Not anti Chinese at all Anyone thinking that is drawing a long bow
My intention was to point to a potential commercial vulnerability when the purchase of an Australian company is being negotiated with two partners where one of the partner companies is controlled by the Chinese centralist government while an arm of Australian company being bought needs the permissions from that same Chinese centralist government to proceed inside China
As I said IF that is the situation that occurred then in my opinion the Dutch would have been quite happy to have that leverage
More Australian companies are being bought by Chinese companies
Thats all well and good China is looking after their needs We Australia needs to look after ours
IMO Australian companies would more likely get a better deal when negotiating their sale to a Chinese company if the Australian company being bought was separated from the ventures inside China
We may have to use separate companies to operate inside China
