ps in relation to this final comment :
While several comments have been made re civil infrastructure and urban development so far Golding has not flexed those muscles to any major extent for NRW shareholders .... but here’s a sample of one of the projects the company was doing just before NRW made the purchase.
I meant via shareholder information detailing specific contracts .

Whilst I am here, some more information
    Bridges:
( see also pbawley’s 34636972 ) highlighting excellent performance and Golding’s popularity with the Queensland government after “under budget ahead of time “ construction of five bridges on Dawson Highway Queensland which has liberated $14 million the Government is now keen to spend on additional upgrades http://www.trailermag.com.au/news/article/qld-invests-in-better-road-train-access

Member for Gladstone, Glenn Butcher, said replacing these five timber bridges has resulted in a wider Dawson Highway, increasing safety for all road users.
“The weight limits on these timber bridges were a major inhibitor to the region’s freight operations, with some vehicles travelling hundreds of additional kilometres via Rockhampton
    .”

More feedback in how Golding is viewed in Gladstone from the government press release :http://statements.qld.gov.au/Statem...uck-for-bridges-between-gladstone-and-biloela
Mr Butcher said the project had helped boost economic growth of the broader region.
He said Golding’s achievements in completing the project demonstrated the knowledge, skill and capability of a local company to deliver large-scale infrastructure for the community.”

nb also a recent contract win to clean up after cyclone Debbie (discussed at the time on another thread) https://www.gladstoneobserver.com.a...31m-contract-to-fix-cyclone-damaged-/3450428/

For anyone not aware of why Gladstone is “hugely important “ here’s a taster :https://www.gpcl.com.au/development
We are entering into a phenomenal period of industrial development and expansion, which will see us strengthen our position as one of Australia’s leading ports.

    http://www.aussietowns.com.au/town/gladstone-qld
“...The NRG Power Station, the huge port, the Queensland Alumina Ltd operation to the south of the city, the RG Tanna Coal Terminal, the Cement Works, the Gladstone Ports Corporation all make it one of the most substantial and commercially successful ports in Australia. More than 100 million tonnes of cargo with over thirty products pass through the port each year. In the last three decades this quiet port has become a maritime centre with some of the most sophisticated loading facilities in the country. “

Finally a possible future Gkadstone project for Golding https://www.gladstoneobserver.com.a...leaders-weigh-in-on-gladstones-futur/3351430/
