You could pay people to use electricity and electric vehicles would still not be able to take the place of standard cars and trucks. I think it's playing with words when you describe fossil fuel being subsidised as a lot of that is in cheap fuel for transport in countries where oil sales contribute BILLIONS to the economy. What is wrong with a government supplying cheap petrol for its citizens when they make so much off the export. The oil is owned by the people isn't it?
