I find it mildly entertaining, I'm retired, so I've got the time to respond to some of these birdbrained posts.

Goldbugs aren't easily persuaded that they're losing money and that Great Depression 2 isn't just around the corner, but I will say that the goldbugs I debated with a few years back have disappeared, probably after losing sufficient funds or missing out on some decent opportunities. The endless psychic predictions of financial hell and high water are always worth a laugh, even though I point out to them time after time that none of them have come true and their 'heroes' like Peter Schiff and Jim Rickards have been wrong every single year. Goldbuggery is something of cult, and cults attract some real oddballs.

There's lots of demeaning posts here about real estate, but that's one area that you can make a lot of money if you get it right, and of course, it's got a dividend.

Psychology's an interesting subject, goldbugs blame their losses on others, but not themselves, and dabble in a commodity that's being 'bankstered' and 'manipulated' - downwards of course. Gold adherents only want to hear 'good' things about gold, not 'bad' things, otherwise they put you on ignore. A diligent investor would want to hear all the news, good or bad.

You never know what you might find in amongst a lot of this baloney though, SBM was something I stumbled on the other day, it's quite interesting and could be worth a punt.
