Einstein was from another era. He worked out the theory of relativity but he died in 1955, so he wasn't au fait with modern monetary theory, credit cards, international transfers and satellite communications.

It's like goldbugs harking back to the good ol' days of gold ducats, wampum, seashells, and limestone discs which weighed more than a car.
