I wouldn't be not underestimating a Le Pen victory. Journalists need to be focusing on the issue of the high levels unemployment in France and income disparity which while been a EU member has not changed but worsen. Journalists seem out of touch just like Christine Lagarde and ignorant to the political elite class resentment. An outlier fact is twitter followers which Trumps had considerable more followers then Clinton which is similar to Le Pen and Macron. Macron has the backing of both major political parties which people are voting against which is easy for a back lash vote. If France leaves the EU there is so much upside with a weaker currency and comparative advantages such as wine, cheese and tourism etc. The real loser is the wealthy elite, political elite and Germany who would have a ridiculous high exchange rate.
