Yep there are some very big short positions in some gold stocks which I think will do very well, others perhaps not so much. Do they carry these positions into end of quarter when markets get very thin around Christmas / New Year?
If they had to cover 7 - 10% of stock issuance in an illiquid market it would be absolute chaos.
Well if you call share prices jumping 30-50$ chaos. ;-)
There is some very good value among some of these stocks & I get the feeling a few of the short positions that are in what were perhaps previously over valued or had shadows hanging over the stocks have not kept pace with what some of these miners are about to display.
