Speculators can buy now on the understanding that even if the share price drops back to around $2.76 they will break even so long as they hold the shares until the ex-dividend date of 6 September. The fully franked dividend is 8.5 cents (minus any tax payable by shareholders).
Its worth a punt for at least a short term hold.
In the near term I expect the gold price to head up a bit further, say to USD1350, due to favourable seasonal factors, but then fall back to perhaps USD1260-1280 in December.before there is another surge again in early 2018.
There was some good news in the annual report that the life of Simberi oxide operations has been extended by another year. It would be great if the economics for mining the sulphide ore would also stack up.
Want to see this back over $3.00 perhaps as high as $3.30 as a short term peak. That will depend on the gold price co-operating and fundies buying goldies again.
