You know what, I kind of agree, he has played some magical football for the Saints but he has been down on his influence that he has had previously, I can't see Waters wanting to change Goddard's role that he played so well under Lyon, he hasn't been that bad but he definitely wasn't that good.
If Freo think that they are one good player away from being a good team, then who else is available?
Maybe they should go for a WA player, Rich, Fasolo, Mitch Duncan, Harry Taylor, David Swallow???, I guess if money is no problem, then make a deal that will get a home grown player back, it seems Goddard is a bit over priced and it may be better to get two good quality players for the price of one.
